Are you setting goals, or resolutions for the New Year?
Maybe you did that last week - and you've already forgotten about them!
Most resolutions are stated in terms of what we'll lose, give up, or stop doing. There's a certain negative connotation within the resolution (such as, needing to lose weight or quit something.)
How about setting a goal that has to do with an action? Like what you want to be able to do, or be... not about losing, but about gaining something for yourself.
If you want to stop smoking, you could state your goal like this: "I am making healthy choices for myself every moment of every day."
If you want to lose weight and plan to go to the gym - state goals that are about what you want to accomplish with your body - how much weight do you want to lift? How fast do you want to run the mile?
And, HOW will you feel when you've accomplished your goal? -- start feeling that way NOW.
'Begin at the end' refers to feeling the way you'll feel when you've reached your goal.
